Microsoft has started rolling out OpenAI’s GPT‑5.3 Instant across Microsoft 365 Copilot and Copilot Studio, bringing a noticeable upgrade in speed, clarity, and task‑aligned responses. This update is now live for users with priority access and is gradually reaching all Copilot environments.

What does GPT-5.3 Bring?

GPT‑5.3 Instant is designed to improve the quality and usefulness of everyday interactions and builds on the success (and user feedback) over 5.2.

Microsoft highlights several key enhancements:

  • More accurate, reliable responses – reducing unnecessary disclaimers and producing answers that better match the intent of the question.
  • Stronger, more expressive writing – helping users draft clearer, more natural content.
  • More direct, actionable answers – especially helpful in productivity scenarios where Copilot needs to “get to the point.”
  • Better synthesis of web information – combining retrieved content with the model’s reasoning so answers are less shaped by raw search results and more aligned to the task.

These improvements aim to make Copilot’s output more focused, relevant, and immediately usable in real work scenarios.

Enterprise Grade Protection as Standard

Microsoft Copilot (regardless what models are used) are and always will be delivered with the security, compliance, and privacy guarantees built into Microsoft 365. Organisations can adopt the new model without compromising governance or data protection expectations.

Users still get a choice of models until the newer models become standard/dedault.

Microsoft 365 Copilot licenses users get priority access.

Microsoft 365 Copilot licensed users receive priority access to GPT‑5.3 Instant, while users without a Copilot licence (those with Copilot Chat only) will still get access but at a standard tier.

In Copilot Chat, the model appears as GPT‑5.3 Quick response, and in Copilot Studio as GPT‑5.3 Chat.

GPT-5.3 Deeper Thinking Models?

Microsoft has confirmed that updates to the Thinking (deep reasoning) models are also on the way, continuing the company’s commitment to offering model choice and cutting‑edge AI innovation for work.
